You may remember a film from a few years ago called 'Run Fat Boy, Run' Well here is the real life sequel: 'CYCLE FAT BOY, CYCLE'
In a moment of weakness I signed up to cycle 540 miles over 7 days during Holy week 2011. Starting in Dinard in the North West of France I will arrive in Lourdes 540 miles further south on Good Friday. The bike is shiny and new and the training is about to start in earnest. It will certainly be a challenge !!
However it will all be worth it if I manage to raise lots of money for the great charity HCPT -The Pilgrimage Trust.
HCPT takes thousands of children with disabilities or special needs on a pilgrimage holiday to Lourdes in France. The children travel in small family-style groups with experienced volunteer helpers, doctors, nurses and chaplains. The Trust also has a house in the mountains outside Lourdes for people of all ages with disabilities.
