Story

Hello :)

Thank-you for coming to my page! I won't bore you too much, but there's just some stuff I'd like you to know about the cause, and where your money will go etc.

Next summer it will be 10 years since my Mother died. And also 11 years since my Father died. As 10 years is such a milestone, and so much has changed since then, I felt like I wanted to mark the anniversary with something incredibly challenging, and as dramatic as I could. My parents were fighters right up until the end, particularly my father who would probably have climbed Kilimanjaro as if it was Amersham Hill. Therefore, by doing this, I am challenging myself in a way that is significant, and represents to me how they are never forgotten- and that my life has still gone in great ways, despite them no longer being with me. In a spiritual way, if I were to believe in heaven, I guess it's nice to climb that little bit closer.

My trip will cost me £1,850. I will leave for Nairobi on 10th June, and be away for about 2 weeks. This money will cover absolutely everything, except my visa, and my innoculations.

I am aiming on raising as much as I can BEYOND this goal, so I can recognise two charities that played a big part in their final days.

The Rowan's Hospice- This place is incredible, the hospice itself is beautiful, and I even have fond memories here- from walking around the gorgeous gardens. This has a special place in my heart, as it is where my Mum actually passed away.

Macmillan Cancer Research- This is a charity that my Dad did a lot of work with, and I know it was something he would be delighted about, if he knew we were donating to them.

Please, please donate generously. And thank-you for listening to my spiel.

Peace and love to you all xxx
