Story

Hi all you very kind friends, work colleagues, fellow drinkers, fellow athletes, etc!

It will have come as much as a shock to you as it did to me to find my name associated with this challenge. Three Countries, Three Peaks and all in 24 hours (or in my case, just maybe up to 36 hours!). It just goes to show that if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time and have had several pints of shandy what a shock it can be to hear the words “ yes I will do it” coming out of your lips and then the next morning realise the enormity of what you have done.

Some of you will know that I have had a few health issues this year and that’s a good enough reason for this page going up late as I wanted to make sure I would be taking part before asking you all to part with the dosh.

I will be joining 30 friends in this challenge all of which have reminded me that I am the oldest and most rotund male taking part and I should at least try to raise an amount as a multiple of my waistline. So that’s where you all come in.

As you can see from the photo to the left I have done other stupid things in the name of charity before; this being taken after abseiling down a very high office block! Some say the wings were taking things just a tad too far but I believe a `Nuns` costume is on offer for the peaks challenge!

Its all for a great cause so I would ask you to dig deep for me and remember if you cannot do the challenge yourself at least give to me to show your appreciation of the nut cases that do go and do it!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Papworth Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
