Story
Dr Bob Grant, a GP from Fife, underwent treatment for cancer in his leg when he was 14 years old. Subsequently he had an amputation of that leg in 2002 and is now mobile on crutches.
His walk starts at 10.30am on Thursday 17th September 2009 at Bowling in Dumbartonshire and will take him along the Forth & Clyde canal to the Falkirk Wheel and then along the Union Canal to Edinburgh (www.scottishcanals.co.uk). He will then cross the Forth Road Bridge and join the Fife Coastal Path (www.fifecoastalpath.co.uk) to finish at the spectacular new Maggie's Centre in Kirkcaldy. During the walk, visits will also be made to the Maggie's Centres in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Further details of the walk can be found on www.bobswalk.co.uk and there will be live updates there during the walk.
Anyone wishing to join in with all or part of the walk should contact Bob on info@bobswalk.co.uk or phone (01592) 610396.
