WOAM ETHIOPIA TREK 2017 · 10 November 2017

Women for Women International supports women who live in some of the world’s most dangerous places. Women enrol on the charity’s year-long training programme, where they learn how to earn and save money, improve their family’s health and make their voices heard at home and in their community.

Story

I have a genuine desire to help less fortunate women across the world. I was talking at the Asian Pacific Coaching Conference in Bangkok earlier this year, where I met a woman from Women On A Mission.  She shared the following information with me:

- 1 in 3 women experiences sexual or physical violence in her lifetime

- 2 million women and girls are trafficked annually

- Worldwide up to 50% of sexual assaults are committed against young girls

- 2/3 of children denied primary education are girls

Her work and what their organisation does inspired me and I wanted to be part of it. I am now cycling and walking about 252km through Ethiopia in November to raise awareness and money for women and girls worldwide. I want to do whatever it takes  to give them just a smidgen of a better life and for this I need your help and support please.
