Ummah Welfare Trust was founded to challenge the huge poverty and injustice prevalent in the Ummah today. Inspired by the Islamic teachings of empathy and selflessness, the charity strives to support and uplift the impoverished through the beautiful act of charity.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

George Galloway under the banner of Viva Palestina, will be leading an aid convoy from Britain to Gaza leaving on 14 February and travelling through France, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and through Rafah and into Gaza. It will bring material aid and raise the banner of Palestine in all the countries that we visit.

The convoy will be led by a British fire engine, ambulances, and many trucks full of practical aid given by the various communities in Britain.

The recent war in Gaza has resulted in over 1,300 Palestinian deaths including 450 children.   There remains 6,000 wounded with 20,000 homes destroyed and damaged.  61,000 families have been made homeless

We, the communities of Bolton, for this reason, are also joining the Viva Palestina convoy  and have already secured a number of vehicles for the convoy, merely 2 days after the launch event on 26th January.  We are aiming to get up to 10 vehicles from Bolton on the convoy before the convoy leaves on the 13th February from Bolton.

Our profile, our activities and our fundraising  operations have blossomed over the past few days as we truly mobilise our collective efforts.   Please visit our website www.bolton.vivapalestina.org to see how we are getting on

We are aiming to have the most number of vehicles provided by any town which is part of the convoy as well as raising £100,000 in cash for Gaza.

Note to Muslims: If your donation is not Lillah (and is Zakat/Sadaka) then please donate directly via the Ummah Welfare website www.uwt.org

So please sponsor the cause and help the people in Gaza!
