Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

Back in 2003 when the group in the photo walked the Moonwalk, we were told that there was a 1 in 9, now 1 in 8, chance of a woman contracting breast cancer during her lifetime. Looking around the group, this meant that statistically at least one of us was likely to contract it. What a sobering thought.

Since that time one of that group did indeed contract breast cancer and underwent the full whammy of breast cancer treatment. Happily she has recently been given the all clear and is walking again on May 12th. Whilst survival rates are on the up there is still much to do.

Whilst it is less prevalent, the incidence of breast cancer amongst men is also on the increase. So we are sure that the 2 chaps that are part of the group are walking to bring this to more peoples' attention and it has absolutely nothing to do with the opportunity to both wear a bra and be around women wearing bras;-)
