Story

On Sunday 4 September 2011, the Book Aid Bicycle Club and 26 other intrepid souls braved the horrendous weather, and 55 of the hilliest miles ever cycled, all to raise money for Book Aid International.

Because the hills were so monstrous, and the weather so, well, wet and windy, the route from Camberwell to Burwash in East Sussex took us between 6 and 7 hours rather than the 4 & ½ to five that we'd hoped! Frankly, we were a bedraggled and exhausted team by the end. But we did it!!

If we reach our fundraising target we'll be able to send 750 books to libraries across sub-Saharan Africa - what better motivation could we have asked for during our mammoth challenge?

Please donate as much as you can. Through JustGiving it's simple, fast and totally secure and Book Aid International receives the money directly (with Gift Aid reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer). So please dig deep and donate now.
