RALEIGH BRAVEHEART CHALLENGE 2005
** UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 2005 - WE DID IT!! **
We are thrilled to report that our team, "The Borneo Babes" completed the Raleigh Braveheart Challenge over 9th/10th/11th September. Moreover, we also won the "Fastest Female Team" award!
It was a truly fantastic three days of competition, with blood and sweat (but no tears) all the way! Activities ranged from archery, abseiling and JCB driving to a timed orienteering race across the Scottish hills, a mountain bike race and a 5km run with backpacks!
We all agreed that our highlights of the weekend were:
* the canadian canoe race on Loch Lomond, which turned out to be a gripping head to head with another team that we clinched by 1 second! * the timed non-stop ascent and descent of Ben Lomond (974m/3195ft) that we achieved in 3.5 hours (running all the way down!) * and the awesome thrill of a helicopter ride across Loch Lomond. Thank you so much for all your donations. We exceeded our goal of raising £4000 and this money has all gone directly to our charity, Raleigh International. It was a BRILLIANT weekend and one that we will certainly remember! THE BORNEO BABES Amanda, Lucy, Claire & Ceri xx
