Story
It started at 10.30 and finished just before 6pm and it lasted around 20 miles and involved sore feet and sweaty people. It was the the Oxygen 2008 Boroughthon , an event that involved the Oxygen team supported by volunteers and young people walking the entire length, breadth and width of Kingston Borough to visit the site of each of the Oxygen projects in Kingston Borough.
On May 27th 2008, 12 intrepid explorers headed out from the Oxyegn centre at St Peters Norbiton to visit the Kingsnympton Estate, Kingston Vale (Richmond Park - for the Sheen partnership), Dinton Fields, Hawker Centre, Kingston URC & Town Centre, ROOM Surbiton, Alpha Estate Surbiton (Where we stopped for lunch), Tolworth Girls School, Devon Way Youth Centre, Chessington Moor Lane, Venner Youth Centre, Rm1 Coombe, New Malden URC, New Malden Methodist, Christchurch New Malden, New Malden Baptist and then home, via the Cambridge Estate and back to Oxygen!
thank you to all who supported us on this day, in addition to the money raised online we think we have raised another £200 through personal sponsorship. This money will now go to help us as we continue to work after school, on the streets and through big events with Kingston's Young People.!
