Three Peaks Challenge · 23 January 2009

We support the thousands of patients and families at Sheffield Children’s, from across the UK and beyond, by funding the life-changing and the joy-sparking. We make clinical care kinder, and bad days brighter. We bring play, laughter and comfort to places where they’re needed the most.

Story

Hi,

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.  You probably know at least one of us for your sins.  The only time we have previously walked together is between the Frog and Parrot and the Revolution Bar.

At present we have a team of 9, hardly a crack unit but we are working on it.  Average weight 15 stones, which would be perfect if our average height was 6'5", unfortunately its 5'8", so we aim to get taller.

In Bridget Jones diary style we are keeping tabs on our daily consumption to keep our bodies honed.  For the week ended 29/3/09 (we will update this each week):

Fags:      267

Alcohol Units: 600 (Jason downed 10 cans of Stella after Snowdon on Sat night)

Our Challenge - on the 26th of June to walk the three highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) within 24 hours including the drive in between.  We don't envisage too much sleep and we are all pretty worried, particularly as our first practice walk ended in disaster and a near mountain rescue!!!

We are attempting this and trying to raise as much money as we can for the Sheffield Childrens Hospital.  As local boys this is close to all our hearts and we aim to raise as much as we possibly can for this world class institituion that we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.

We will keep you updated with email updates whilst en route if you would like to receive then place a simple @ sign on your giving message.

A big shout out to our customer Go Outdoors who have been unbelieveably generous in supporting us with all the equipment we need for the walk and then some.

All the best and thank you for your support,

The BoS 3 peaks Team
