Story
In April 2010 I lost my closest friend, Jodie, aged just 17 to Viral Meningitis. After being taken ill with tonsilitis, she was rushed to hospital as she had developed headaches and was showing no signs of improvement. Tests then confirmed she had the Viral form of Meningitis and as the survival rate is 97% they were confident she would make a full recovery. Unfortunately Jodie took a turn for the worse and her health rapidly deteriorated. Sadly in under a week it had got the better of her. As Jodie was such a giving person, shortly after her passing, her parents made the strong decision to donate her organs. This incredibly managed to save 4 peoples lives!! Since Jodies passing, my freinds and Jodie's family have participated in many different challenges and events to raise money for various Meningitis charities. Our next challenge is the biggest so far! In October this year, along with Jodie's Dad and Nan, I will be off to the Far East to walk the Great Wall of China. We will be raising money for the Menigitis Trust, which is a charity that gives lifelong support to those that have been affected by Meningitis as well as raising awareness and funding research. If you would be kind enough to sponsor me on this amazing challenege I will be extremely grateful. Remember, even the smallest of donation will honestly make a huge difference. Thanks so much for all your support !!!!
