The crack unit of 10 that was the Bottle Green Team attempted the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on 5th September 2009 - the challenge is to climb the 3 Peaks in under 12 hours (and return safely to the start....)

Conditions started off OK at 6 a.m. but got steadily worse; high winds, rain, low cloud, limited visibility, very (very!) boggy. We had injuries to two teammates (knee and ankle - but no long term physcial impairment hopefully). 10 of us finished two peaks and 8 were able to carry on to the end. 6 minutes over the 12 hours to get everyone back to where we started but not too disappointing given the conditions. 

Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Inglebrough - a distance of 25 miles and 1,600 metres of climb! It's just a shame that we didn't have any views from any of the peaks as all were in cloud. A huge effort all round, especially from our novice hill walkers, no fine views but a few quid raised for a good cause all the same.
