I will be getting 'thank you' letters back from all concerned - thereafter, I plan to scan these and circulate to all concerned.

'Bounceathon' for the National Autistic Society
This is partly as a salute to the iconic and timeless hopper – but mostly with a view to ensuring that sponsors and donators get full value for money from the spectacle of mature, sensible professionals suffering an enormous indignity!
Although intended to be hugely enjoyable, the more competitive among our 'jockeys' will be interested in securing one of a number of attractive trophies on their chariots of rubber. As we hope this will be the first in a series of an annual fundraising events, the prizes might even become collectibles one day!
All in the name of what?
The reason for the 'bounceathon' is that my children, Oscar and Barney, are both autistic, both with serious special needs that require intense levels of care and support.
Both benefit from a lifestyle that helps mitigate against aspects of their condition. Despite this, the probability is that one or both will be with us as adults; again, something we're equipped to manage and support. However, we are mindful that other children and adults are less much fortunate.
Access to special education alone is a minefield - one that my wife, Vicki, has had to give her career up to negotiate.
Among many other things, the National Autistic Society provides critical support to parents working against the bureaucracy and ignorance that still exists.
So, for those of you that choose to give here, be assured that your help WILL make an immediate and continuing positive impact on the lives of people dealing with an exhausting and frustrating life long condition.
And, on behalf of all of the 'bouncers', thank you for taking the time to visit and contribute – your help will make a BIG difference!
