The Maidenhead Advertiser have at last put the press release in that we submitted before we started our cycle. Hopefully more people will recognise  Me and make donations getting me to my target amount.  That would be fantastic.  Been home nearly two weeks now but still feel really pleased about completing the event.  Anyone thinking of doing anything "Just do it" you will be surprised what your body & mind are capable of.

We all finished at Lands End about 5.30pm Friday June 11th.  Over 1000 miles completed in just 12 days.  We were all exhausted but really delighted to have completed the long ride.  Big surprise my wife Sue and Steve's wife Jane were at the finish with a banner to welcome us to Lands End.  After several photos, and of course some champagne ! we loaded the bikes onto the car and drove to Penzance for a shower, change of clothes and celebration meal and drinks.

Saturday we returned to Maidenhead for a well earned rest.  Sunday evening we were surprised again by a welcome party at the Trevi (Thames Hotel Maidenhead).   Most of our regular cycle friends from Maidenhead Mountain Bikers plus friends and family were there to cheers us and spend the evening with us keen to hear about our journey.

It has been a fantastic experience, Thank you very much to everyone who has supported me in this adventure. Special thanks to Sue  and Jane (Mrs Bossley...Remember Charlies Angels) without who it  would not have been possible.

A big thank you to all who have generously made donations and if you have not please do it now

Last year I did the London to Brighton cycle ride and raised £1000 for the British Heart Foundation.  A massive thanks to all who helped me.

Now this year I am going for the big one.  John OGroats to Lands End.  Yes the length of Great Britain !

I will be accompanied by my good friends Steve (Chelsea boy Harriss) and Simon (The Mac) Phillips.

Steve & I plus 8 other MMB (Maidenhead Mountain Bikers) members have just completed the Coast to Coast (C2C) White Haven to Newcastle.  That's 147miles, mostly upward hills.  Phew !!! that was tougher than expected but all done including dipping tyres in water & a swim in the sea at Newcastle for Steve.

We are regular Sunday cyclists but this is still a huge challenge.  I have decided to raise money for a local charity this time. Alexander Devine Cancer Trust. www.alexanderdevine.org

This charity was first brought to my attention over two years ago when Sue (my very supportive wife) and I attended a charity ball fund raiser in Maidenhead.  That night I won the bid in an auction for a signed Frank Lampard England shirt which now hangs on my step son's bedroom wall (if he only knew at what cost)

I know there are loads of good causes and its not possible to support all but all too often the local ones do not get enough funding because they lose out to the bigger ones.  I have set up this page to make it easy to give. We will be cycling around 1000 miles in total, an average of about 80 per day for 12 days.  If you only give one penny a mile that would still be £10 so please please help this very important cause.

Thank you all for you generosity

Boxer Pete
