Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Brad & Lisz Hardwidge are preparing to embark on a 4000 kilometre charity drive in 7 days around Europe.  The journey will be taking them through 10 countries in total and all proceeds will be going to GAFSIP.

Brad first joined AFRS in 1988 as a retained firefighter at Blagdon, and joined as a whole time firefighter in 1992.

Brad & Lisz have been married for almost 8 years, their anniversary will be on September 16th whilst they are on the drive.  Lisz came to England from Canada in 1998 for what she thought was going to be a short stay.  They got married in Canada in 2000.  They live in Portishead with their 2 children Molly aged 2 and Harry who was born on 30th March this year.

Brad has been involved in Land Rovers for many years and spends his spare time restoring and rebuilding them, as well as having to complete the daily challenges that are part of the Landy Rally.  He will be providing back up support for the rest of the vehicles.

As there has been a lot of bad press regarding the green issues surrounding 4x4's in general, they are planning to make the drive solely on Bio Diesel that he makes from used cooking oil.  Brad & Lisz are also hoping to raise money for GAFSIP by selling advertising space on their Land Rover.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Gambia and Avon Fire Services In Partnership (GAFSIP) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
