Story
Hello,
For those who have not met me, I am Brenda.
In 1998, I completed the Flora London Marathon in memory of my husband Robert, who passed away aged 24 from a rare form of cancer, and raised £1,200 for The Leukeamia Research Fund.
I have unfortunately had first hand experience of the valuable support that the Macmillan nurses provide to people undergoing treatment for cancer.
In May 2008, I will be treking 'The Inca Trail' to reach Macchu Picchu, the Lost City of the Inca's. We will be camping in remote locations, with basic facilities and varying temperatures (not much different from camping in the UK!).
My target for this challenge is £3,200, with 66% being donated directly to Macmillan and the balance to fund the expedition. Any money that I can raise over and above the target will be donated 100% to Macmillan.
To show my commitment to this challenge I have paid a non-refundable acceptance fee of £295 (no backing out now then) and have commenced training under the guidance of the fitness trainers at Riverside Ice & Leisure in Chelmsford, in the mornings before work, which is no mean feat considering that I am an owl as opposed to a lark (ask anyone that knows me!).
I thank you for visiting my fundraising page and hope that you are able to sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Brenda xx
PS please pass this on to anyone that you know who might be willing to sponsor me.
Photo evidence will be made available on completion, but feel free to leave your email address for regular updates.
