My story

06/07/11 - An update!
Thanks for all donations and support to date.
Since the bike ride I've launched 'Music Earth Rise' to help raise funds > although small events to date a bigger event is in the process of being organised - To find out more check in to www.musicearthrise.com

Having just returned from a trip to Zambia and visited Mukuni Village with my friend Valerie Buchanan, we were distressed to learn that almost half the children in the school are orphaned through the HIV/AIDS pandemic. As a volunteer for The Butterfly Tree I held a number of music workshops for these vulnerable children, teaching them to play the guitar, which I later donated to the school. Inspired by the work of the charity and the fantastic response from my pupils we are raising funds to build a Music Centre at Mukuni. Due to the high poverty levels there is very little for these young people to do outside the classroom. Providing these facilities will give them an opportunity to develop music skills, which will enable them to perform concerts to increase awareness and raise funds for the HIV/AIDS and malaria. It is also a chance to become self-sustaining.

Please donate - through music we can make a difference!

3 STEPS TO DEVON.....

CYCLING from LONDON TO DEVON (To do a gig!)

We set off (myself and trusty sidekick/guitarist Nicholas Dodd, who has joined the cause) on 30th September 2010 from Turnham Green, London and arrive to do the gig in Devon on the 3rd October 2010. That’s approximately 200 miles over 3 nights.

3 WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:

Step 1: Join the mission and ride with us! – Email us below for further info
Step 2: Tell your friends, donate and support the mission
Step 3: Tell your friends, donate and support the mission

HOW TO REACH THE TARGET
1. £10,000 seems like a lot of money
2. To break it down - We just need 200 people donating £50 each
3. Donate more or donate less
