20.04.11: WHAT AN AMAZING DAY!!!!!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! It is difficult to describe how Sunday felt. Nerves and excitement were rife as we made our way to the start only to be replaced by sheer grit and determination as we made our way around the hot and packed 26.2 mile course. This, however, all paled into insignificance at the finish as absolute elation, relief and a little bit of exhaustion set in! The race was amazing - fantastically well organised with some fabulous sights and the most brilliant vibrant supporters who took the time to shout our names and provide an array of sweets! As we pounded the streets of the capital, knowing that we had received so much support certainly kept us going particularly when times got tough. Lydia finished in 5:46:32 and I came in at 4:12:34.

Thanks to all of our marvellous supporters we have now managed to smash our revised target of £4000 - Amazing! When we started this journey back in October 2010 it would have been beyond our wildest dreams to raise this much money and so a massive THANK YOU! Acorns Children's Hospice makes a real difference to the lives of children and young people who have life limiting or life threatening conditions. It is an exceptional cause and it needs our help to continue to provide nursing and support services to nearly 600 children and 800 families.
