Old squash players bike ride Paris to London Sept 2014 in memory of Kevin.

Kev was a keen squash player and was a member of the Bromley Lawn Tennis and Squash club. He died earlier this year after a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer. He is sorely missed both on the court and in the bar where his wit and humour made him many friends.
In memory of Kev, five of us from the club are embarking on a cycle ride back from Paris to London in just three days in early September (this year!). This may seem quite straightforward but we are not all cyclists. We have organised it all ourselves from the Eurostar to the accommodation to the route itself! In preparation for this epic journey we have been doing early morning runs at 0700 hrs on Sunday mornings over the Downs. We do it at this time so we don't get embarrassed by other cyclists as we do appear a motley crew and we aren't very quick. To give you an idea what we are up against four of us recently did a longer run from Orpington down to Westgate which resulted in three out of four of us crashing! Admittedly it was on the Sunday that Hurricane Bertha hit the UK but it did little to build confidence.
We may not make it but we'll give it damn good try - just like Kev would have. We're hoping to have a laugh, not get killed and raise money for research into pancreatic cancer that may increase the appalling survival rates. Please support us.
