Story
I had been thinking of running a marathon for a few years. Well to be honest I only ever thought about it once a year when then London Marathon was on TV. This year however was different, I would be (and now am) 40 by the time of the 2011 London Marathon. That seemed to be a good enough reason!!
Much to my amazement I've found (so far!) that I actually like running, although at the moment pretty slowly.
I am running the 2011 London Marathon to raise money for the charity Tommy's. Tommy's work to save babies' lives by funding research and providing information on the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.
I first became aware of Tommy's in 1999 when Claire and I lost our twins, Tom and Ellie, at 23 weeks due to Pre-Eclampsia and Placental Abruption.
My marathon entry is via a Golden Bond place with Tommy's and my target for the chairty place is to raise at least £2000 for this worthy cause.
