Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I am running the Chris Hoy Edinburgh Half Marathon on the 5th April 2009 for the Myotonic Dystrophy Charity in memory of my cousin Joanne McCarthy who died on the 11th October 2008 aged just 33 and also for her younger sister Angela who died almost 8 years earlier aged just 22. Both suffered from Myotonic Dystrophy.

For those of you who know me well you'll know the idea of running for a bus fills me with dread so the prospect of a 13.1 mile run and all the training that goes with it is almost unthinkable. This is a very worthwhile cause however and any donation you make would be very much appreciated by this small charity and will give me encouragement during my winter training runs.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your kind support.

Brian :-)
