Story
Sophie was diagnosed with Leukaemia in October 2013. Sophie has been facing the biggest challenge she will ever face. The survival for life. Please help Sophie and the family raise funds for Leukaemia Research so we can help improve cancer treatments and increase survival rates for future patients.
Since Sophie started her treatment 8 months ago she has spent 43 nights in hospital, had 165 Chemo treatments, 200+ blood extracts/pokes, 25 leg injections, 18 general anaesthetics, 14 lumber puncture operations, 4x bone marrow extracts. General surgery for insertion of two Hickman lines & a picc line. 45 Hickman dressing changes, 11 blood transfusions, 49 days on steroids, 7 X-rays & ultrasounds & over 33 infusions of antibiotics. She has been visited at home by the community oncology nurses 40 times and she has been neutropenic and housebound for 100+ days.
Update 07/06/2014
Sophie has 4 and a half weeks left of her intense chemotherapy treatment which started on the 30th October she will then go into maintenance for 2 years where she will continue to take Chemotherapy drugs. The main concentrated phases and procedures will be behind her and hopefully she will return to normal life and start school in September.
