Story
Hi all,
Last year I managed to raise £280 for charity by running the Glasgow Half Marathon, so I thought I’d try and raise a bit more in 2012. However, it seems only fair that if I’m asking for money again, that I do a little more myself – so rather than just cover 1 event, I’m signing up to several. So my challenge in 2012 is not just to run the half marathon again, but to do everything below. Hopefully that’s enough to tempt you all in to being generous for a good charity.
In all, I'll be taking part in 5 x 10ks, 1 x half marathon and 1 x cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh. Details below:
A 10k per week for 5 weeks (during May / June):
Helensburgh 10k (complete)
Clydebank 10k (complete)
Dumbarton 10k (complete)
Vale of Leven 10k (complete)
Mens Health for Scotland 10k (complete)
Followed in September with …
Glasgow Half Marathon (approx. 13.1 miles / 21k)
Glasgow to Edinburgh Cycle (approx. 47 miles / 75k)
This years charity is SNAC (Scottish Network for Arthritis in children). SNAC aims to support both the children affected by arthritis AND their families, by providing support through various local, phone and internet contacts. Their hope being to fundamentally improving the childs and families experiences of living with arthritis.
So please dig deep and donate now.
