We have set up this page in memory of Brian our most amazing and inspirational husband, dad and grandad.
Brian passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Sunday 16 August 2009. He fought a courageous battle against cancer for over 10 months and it was only in the last week of his life that it became apparent that he was not going to survive. Amazingly he didn’t once moan or complain about the treatment that he was receiving no matter how tough it was. He is an inspiration to his family with his positive attitude and zest for life that was present up until the very end.
Brian’s last days were spent at the Ellenor Lions Hospice in Northfleet, Kent where he received the most amazing care and support from every member of staff that he had contact with. We, as his family were made to feel that we were the most important people in the world whenever we visited Brian whatever the time of day or night. We are still receiving the care and support of the hospice staff and it is for this reason that on behalf of Brian we would like to raise as much money as possible to help support this organisation which is entirely funded by public donations. By giving in memory of Brian you will go some way to help the hospice raise the £4.7 million it costs to run each year.
We are having a memorial service in celebration of Brian’s life for family and friends at St Nicholas Church, Church St, Southfleet, . Kick off on 2nd September at 12.30pm. Dress code: NOT BLACK. Although this will be a sad occasion we as his family feel privileged to have been part of Brian’s life for so long and would ask that instead of giving flowers you may feel able to make a donation to The Ellenor Lions Hospice via Just giving at the following web address. The church service will be followed by a buffet and tea/ coffee at West Malling Golf Club, , Addington, West Malling, Kent. ME19 5AR. Brian’s grandsons will be running a putting competition with all monies raised being donated to the hospice.
