Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I have already raised £1,000 in other ways this month plus a significant amount for Cancer Research (UK) but please support me through this page which is an effective way of subscribing to the RMBI. For over 10 years I have been raising funds for charities and this year, at the age of 73, I am climbing Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the RMBI. Kilimanjaro is not only the highest mountain in Africa, it is also the highest free standing mountain in the world. It is therefore regarded as one of the "seven summits" to be climbed. Whilst it does not require high technical climbing skills it is, nevertheless, a demanding high altitude climb with inevitable risks of altitude sickness which can have fatal consequences. It is both physically and mentallly demanding and over 45% of those who attempt the climb fail to reach the summit.

I am covering all the costs of the climb, in excess of £2,500 and therefore all your donations go directly to charity. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution gets your money faster and it will go towards "The 2010 Festival Appeal". If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid plus a 3% supplement, is added to your donation.

So please sponor me now!
