One thing's for sure, Auntie Marion would have really loved the after-ceilidh, and, along with the family, is very happy to see what a great support you've all been.
Thankyou very much family and friends,
Brian

Hi there, and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On the 24th May 2009, I have a personal target of 45-55mins (or better?!!) to complete the Mull of Kintyre 10k in my hometown of Campbeltown.
I've chosen to raise funds for the Bowel & Cancer Research charity.
The run is in memory of my Auntie Marion, who was the life and soul of all our family parties! Marion was diagnosed with this type of cancer at 41, and sadly passed away when she was only 43.
It would mean a great deal if you could sponsor what you can, to help reach the fundraising target, and raise the awareness about bowel cancer. Please take a read:
http://www.bowelcancerresearch.org. This sponsor page is open for a few weeks after the race too.
[Like other areas of the UK, a bowel-screening programme is due to be launched across Argyll & Bute shortly. Everyone aged 50-74 is invited to carry out a simple home test every 2 years. For more info, call 0845 270 0030] source:Campbeltown Courier 1May09
My training started in March with a run from Westport to Machrihanish on a typical cold, wet and windy Scottish morning!! Shabba!
A timed run at the end of March came in at 1 hour...but a cycling accident on Easter Sunday put me out of action for 4 weeks...just means it'll be hardcore training to reach the target time. 4May...the knee is still sore, and not ready for training yet. 14May...10-day emergency program underway! 18May...run from East Kilbride to Gorbals averaged ~7mph - ran on the grass for a bit though. Fingers crossed can do that on the 24th
Check back here for time update after the run.
Thanks for your support.
Brian
