The Camden Society is a London-wide organisation providing a range of modern services that emphasise the human rights of people with disabilities. Founded 40 years ago, it continues to run and develop services to support people to live, work, relax and socialise in the ways that they choose.

Story

Buy a Bag of Cement Here!

Never before has the Camden Society had such an intriguingly named fundraising campaign.  The Bag of Cement promotion aims to get the Captain Jack’s Holiday House in Brightlingsea looking sparkling again.

Captain Jack’s is a house in Brightlingsea donated to the Camden Society many years ago.  It is used by people with disabilities to enjoy a relaxing break by the sea.

It is in need of repair and we want to convert the existing garage space to make an accessible living area for wheelchair users who cannot currently access the main house.

One bag of cement will cost £5 (you can buy as many as you like!) and will go towards the building work so that everyone can benefit from the seaside property.

Our fundraising target is £35,000 which will cover the repairs and the garage conversion.

Thank you so much for making a donation towards this important cause.  The refurbishment of this holiday house will greatly improve the quality of lives of the people who use this house, providing them with a great and relaxing break from the city.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and secure. It’s also the

most efficient way to sponsor me: The Camden Society gets your money faster and, if you are ataxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
