Thank you for helping us towards our £20,000 target to purchase a much-needed laser machine which we brought to the city of Najaf, southern Iraq in the New Year (aided by Bart Hospital's generosity in donating a second-hand machine).

The machine will be used by local surgeons trained by the Al Hasan Foundation. Our aim is to provide laser treatment to 50 patients a month commencing January 2009.  News and updates will be reported regularly on our website 

All the money raised to date has gone towards vital equipment and supplies to help the people of Najaf - the poor, the elderly, and the young who desperately need ophthalmic care and whose lives will be transformed by the treatment this machine can offer.
