We are three normal guys - good friends.  We have never done anything significant before for charity but when my sons close friend at school had a brain tumour and subsequently passed away within just 17 months, at the age of 11, I was stunned that there was nothing that could have saved him.  Such a tragic loss of a lovely boy - it impacted on us all.

I subsequently learned that Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of people under the age of 40 yet receive only 1% of national research spend and found this shocking and unfair.

When the opportunity recently came up for us take part in the British Bangers Charity Rally, we couldn't resist the chance to push ourselves to do an extreme challenge whilst raising money for this incredible charity, in memory of Fin.

So we will be travelling 2,500 miles in an old Banger.  We will leave Birmingham on 12th May and travel through France, Germany, Italy and then Spain before reaching our final destination - Benidorm.  Whilst travelling through Italy, we will travel the Stelvio pass which is a mountain pass at an elevation of 2,757m above sea level - lets hope the brakes don't fail!

We have set ourselves an ambitious target to raise enough money to fund one whole day of research at one of Brain Tumour Research's "Centres of Excellence" which costs £2,740 - but any amount we can raise would be hugely appreciated by the charity and of course Finlay's family.
