Established in 1805, the hospital is the oldest and one of the largest specialist centres of excellence for eye health in the world. The conditions it treats range from the most common to those more rare and because of the hospitals reputation more patients in the United Kingdom come here for treatment than to any other clinic or hospital in the county.
The hospital also receives secondary and tertiary referrals from eye departments at hospitals around the county and I have personally been a patient at the hospital for which I have been ever so grateful and thankful for the care and attention I received. Since then I have become a big supporter of the work it does on a day to day basis.
The work the hospital does is extremely valuable and can often be life changing. I am fully aware that the climate is tough at the moment however regardless of this I would be ever so grateful if you can please give what you can. The money you donate will help to fund the work of the hospitals Friends association and also the work carried out at the Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre, the hospitals new facility solely devoted to the prevention, treatment and cure of eye disease in children.
Donating through Just Giving is quick, easy and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me and you can either donate me per mile that I have to run or another amount. Which ever way you decide to give Moorfields Eye Hospital Development Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Just Giving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
