The Great South Ride · 1 March 2009

Dystonia UK is the only UK wide organisation driven to ensure that the 100,000 people across the country with dystonia have access to crucial information support and essential treatment. We exist to give hope and support to those living with Dystonia creating UK and worldwide awareness.

Story

Following the success of the last four year’s efforts, The Brotherhood of Married Men are dusting off their trusty steeds, and setting off on Another Great Journey. This year, on July 10th, we intend to prove to ourselves that it is possible to cycle even further than before by cycling from one ferry to another without using either! So, we will be waving goodbye to the Hamble to Warsash ferry and waving hello to the Folkestone to Calais ferry  170 miles further away! It will take three saddle sore days to do it!!

This is a bit of a personal quest for us as we will again be raising money for the Dystonia Society. Not only does a small member of our family  suffer from Dystonia, but we also have a great friend who has had the condition for a long time.

So, if the thought of an overweight Service Manager and a much slimmer Contract Supervisor in T-shirts and lycra shorts, puffing their way along 170 miles of the South Coast on bikes, brings a smile to your face, then bring a smile to ours and donate some money to the ride.

Many thanks for your support, we really appreciate it.
