I was diagnosed with PD eight years ago, when I was 50. It was a shock, and all my plans appeared to crumble away. But although there is no cure, treatment has improved tremendously in recent years. I have managed to keep most of the unkinder aspects of the disease at bay, with the support of work colleages, friends, family, and medication.

I have now retired early from my job with Atkins, where I received tremendous support. Everyone asks me how I will fill my time! This little bike ride should use up a few hours! I propose to do this in June, with Dave Greaves, a fellow mover and shaker and PD sufferer. Many of us believe that we are close to finding a cure. So we want to make a big fundraising push. We hope to be able to recruit other cyclists to join us, either in one day legs, or for the whole journey. We would like this to become an annual event until the cure for PD becomes widely available.  Back us in cycling End to End to end Parkinson's.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Parkinson's Disease Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So, thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me and help me one day to be able to say: "I used to have Parkinson's."

Many thanks for your support.
