Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
The charity I am supporting is WEN, Women's Environmental Network it is the charity my good and close friend Shirley works for, and the charity is always strapped for cash, and is always struggling to survive, so in raising money I hope it will keep going a lot lot longer. For more info on the admirable work WEN do go to www.wen.org.uk and see what a Stirling and great job they do, they are unsung heroines.
I will be 71 yrs old 6 weeks after the marathon, all the training has knocked lots of lard off me, and has given a good boost to my overall health and well being, so I will continue with running after the race day is over, though summer will be around the corner and I think the bike will then take over from the running.
I started training late Oct 2009, at first thought I had bitten off more than I could chew, my first run was 4 miles non stop, all the cycling up till then had made me reasonably fit, but not necessarily fit to run 13 miles, however 3 months on minus snow bound weeks I can run 10 miles non stop, the Hastings half marathon is one of the hardest courses in the country with 3 miles of hills, and grades of one in six.
Thanks for your support
Bryan (Mr B)
