On the 3rd April 2007, BT launched Inspiring Young Minds in partnership with UNICEF, a global charity programme that has the potential to change forever the lives of thousands of children around the world. BT and UNICEF have set a £140,000 employee fundraising target during the second year of the partnership to help  children in Brazil who have dropped out of school, or those that are at risk of doing   so. The money you raise will be used to pay for teachers, sports equipment (e.g. balls, nets, bats etc) and facilities as well as communications to tell children and families about the projects.

Through organised sport children can develop stronger communication, negotiation and leadership skills which increase confidence. This can help them to combat issues like violence and drug use and get them off the streets and back into school.

This is a huge opportunity for BT employees to make a real difference to the lives of thousands of Brazilian children.
