Hello!
And thank you for visiting the latest Justgiving page of the Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund as we continue the huge task of raising £250,000 for CLIC Sargent who support children and young people across the UK living with the daily struggles cancer brings. So far our £250,000 target is at around £180,000 and our all time fundraising in memory of mum has gone past £260,000.
After successful tours of London to Paris in 2016 (£14,500 raised) and Edinburgh to London in 2017 (£21,500 raised) we are back on the bikes again this summer for a challenge with a little bit of a difference. Over the weekend of June 1st to the 3rd we will cycling from the hub of many of our group bike rides (The King of the Belgians pub in Hartford) to the Belgian border and back! An effort which will see us take in 3 countries, 2 ferry crossings, plenty of monster hills and around 330 miles of tarmac. A big challenge and one we hope to complete in around 60 hours arriving back to the pub on Sunday afternoon.
As always we would appreciate the support of all our family and friends as we look to make a difference to the amazing children clic sargent are supporting. Anything you can give is truly wonderful. We also pay a huge thank you to the local businesses who have rallied behind us once again to help ease the financial burden these tours place on the lads.
The full squad of 20 cyclists taking part in this years tour is : Luke Claxton, Steve Smith, Simon Wareing, Daniel Moyes, Ade Tattersall, Paul Jenner, Glen Huddle, Paul Innes, Greig Sarath, Gareth Bell, Liam Johnson, Andy Park, David Pinner, Dougie Gallimore, Richard Todd, Mark Ling, Adam Cundick, Richard Cochrane, Craig Green and David Rigby.
With our 5 man support team who we couldn’t do these things without which is this year made up of Andy Claxton, Nick Dean, James Hustwayte, John Bevan and Martin Claxton.
Thank you as always for your wonderful support.
