Story
On the 26th May 2011, Brett Didwell, Rob Saxton, Marcus Smith and Dan Younger will be setting off from John O'Groats to cycle the length of Great Britain, finishing at Land's End 16 days later.
A 1000 miles of Blighty, no mean feat, so please sponsor us we'll be truly grateful.
Here's Brett with something about our chosen cause, the premature baby charity 'Bliss'...
After a extremely difficult pregnancy my wife and i had twins via emergency cesarean at 28 weeks. Kavan was born first weighing 2lb 6oz and Ryden 2nd weighing 2lb 14oz both, obviously, very ill. After 2 weeks we sadly lost Kavan and Rydens condition worsened. After a long and hard 10 weeks in hospital Ryden was given the all clear. Fast Forward and we are pleased to say that we have just celebrated Rydens 9th birthday, and will soon celebrate Ryden's younger brother Jay's 1st birthday.
We were lucky in that we not only managed to find a hospital that had two available neonatal intensive care beds for the twins but also one that was only 45 miles away from our home. This is a luxury a lot of familys with sick babies (particularly multiples' who will often have their babies separated to two different hospitals many miles apart) do not get.
We didnt know of Bliss at the time but know that their help, support and advice would have been invaluable during what was an extremely upsetting and stressful time in our lives.
