Story

Hi! We're the Longest Day Golf Challenge Team! THANKS for visiting our JustGiving page.

We are Martin, Vicky, Kev, Edward, Maggie, Lyn, John, Alison & Alice.  We are all taking up the challenge to play golf from dawn til dusk on the longest day of the year - 21st June 2010. Believe us when we say that's no mean feat!

PLEASE SPONSOR US & HELP US HIT OUR TARGET!  We could end up playing:
- as many as 7 rounds of golf
- that's 126 holes
- over 45,000 yards we've got to walk - that's more than 25 miles!!
- and (because it's at Hickleton) LOTS of hills!

READ MORE BELOW about why we are all taking part...

There's 9 of us taking part, most of us are members at Hickleton Golf Club, and we'd love for you to sponsor us to do the Longest Day Challenge! We're trying to raise loads of money for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice in Dinnington, South Yorkshire - a really amazing charity. The Day is being organised by Linda Morris as part of the BullsEye Motor Stores effort to raise as much money as possible for this brilliant charity over 6 months.

Bluebell Wood offer care and support to children with life limiting illness and their families. They offer them the chance to spend time together, have some fun and be a family while Bluebell Wood look after their special care requirements. It costs an awful lot of money to do it, so help us raise a bit for them!

Here's a bit more from some of the members of the team:

Martin -

Hi, my name's Martin Knowles, I have been playing golf since I was 8 and play off a handicap of 5. I wanted to participate in the Longest Day Challenge as it is in aid of a great cause in Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and it is my chance to give something back doing something I love.

I am really looking forward to the day, although I know it will be hard work, as being as member at Hickleton I am all too aware of the number of hills! It will be a long tiring day, but it will all be worth it if we meet our target of raising £1000 (or more!) for the charity.
