The Aspire Channel Swim 2009 · 6 December 2009 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

As a lot of you know I'm about to/have just (depending on when you read this) get married, so like women everywhere I wanted to lose weight before hand and fit into that pesky dress! Recently in a bit to boost the pound loss I decided I would start swimming cos its fairly low impact and not too stressful and I noticed this channel swimming thingy!

Thus I have decided to take part in the Aspire Channel Swim 2009! Swim the length of the channel over 12 weeks at your local pool (less boats and things that might eat you) so here I am!

I have got to do a total of 1770 lengths which is 148 a week so not far off what i was hoping to be able to do and now i have an incentive to keep at it!

I would love it if you can sponsor me in doing this and I will try and keep a tally of my progress when it all kicks off on the 14th of September.

Progress as of  12/10/09 650/1770 lengths completed!
