My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This is a request to all you Bushboys (& gals) to help us raise sponsorship for the event. Any amount, small or big will go along way. Your money will go towards the Rhinoark fund, see www.rhinoark.org

For every £15, we'll give away this years Bushboys Polo shirt. Can be collected at the event.

The date for this year's UK Rhino Charge is Sunday September 20th.

John Bowden the event's organiser and a UK trustee of Rhino Ark UK said: '’Once again it is to be in the beautiful 1500 acre Pippingford Park , East Sussex, near Wych Cross.

"As in previous years the Charge itself is open to any 4x4 while there will be harder Tiger Lines for those who do not mind a few scratches and dents on their pride and joy" he said

In previous years competing vehicles have ranged from a 1950 (80! check with John) Series One Landy, a 1958 Hotchkiss Jeep and an Auto Union Munga through various Range Rovers, Land Rover Series 2s, 3s and hybrids to a brace of Discovery's and a new Land Rover 110 Station Wagon.

Good teamwork and concentration can be as important as pure off road ability in this competition, in which the many and varied tasks set out by Brian Hartley of Club Off Road help to give everyone a chance of success.

Added John:" As before loan vehicles will be available should prospective entrants not possess a vehicle of their own and if they are prepared to add to the coffers in return. Past teams have included the usual individuals plus groups from 4x4 specialists, offices and clubs who have got together to raise the necessary sponsorship and enjoyed a very different day out competing in a unique and highly enjoyable event.

There is even the threat of a few journalists joining in!
