Story

Butchers, farmers and representatives from the food industry will be cycling from London to Paris to raise money for four charities; the Butchers' & Drovers' Charitable Institute, the Worshipful Company of Butchers' charity fund, FARM-Africa and Breast Cancer Research.  The money raised will be shared between all the charities.

More than 20 butchers, meat traders, representatives of the food industry and farmers are undertaking the marathon 186 miles journey, riding under the collective banner of ‘Butchers on Bikes’.

The cyclists will gather at the Butcher’s Hall on Friday 5 June for a light, farewell breakfast and will then set off from Smithfield Market and cycle to Newhaven where they will board the cross Channel ferry.  They will then cycle from Dieppe across arriving at Rungis Market in Paris on Monday 8 June.
