Story

Hello

For better or for worse, I am taking the plunge and doing my first ever sponsored run, in aid of Stockport's best kept secret, Beechwood Cancer Care.

I am currently running a campaign in the Stockport Express to raise more than £100,000 for Beechwood, which celebrates its 20th birthday this year.

We are appealing to create a purpose-built family support unit, so the centre's family therapist Claire has the space and equipment she needs to help relatives of cancer patients.

Since 2005 Beechwood has provided this comfort blanket for families – and children in particular – when relatives are diagnosed with cancer.

One in three people get the disease during their lifetime, and relatives are often left reeling from the shock.

But Claire currently works out of one, cramped room, and with your help we can create a facility specifically designed to help people through this agonising time.

Please sponsor me to do this run - you never know when Beechwood or a centre like it may change your life.

Thanks xxx
