Challenge Cancer Through Adventure helps people diagnosed with Cancer or a terminal illness, living in the Peak District and surrounding areas to achieve an ambition to take part in an adventurous activity. It helps by providing grants, expertise and support.

Holly, Adam, Mark and myself are pleased to be representing the University of Derby Buxton as the organisers of this event.  We are raising money for Challenge Cancer Through Adventure by organising a 140 mile cycle from Whitehaven to .  Challenge Cancer Through Adventure was established by 7 Peak District based adventure activity enthusiasts who either have, or have had cancer.  They wanted to enable other people with cancer or a terminal illness to 'live the dream' and also to challenge people's perceptions of cancer and terminal illness.  To support this amazing charity, the 12 participants will be enduring a gruelling mixture of on and off road sections, mountains, gravel and even dipping their wheels in the sea! The event is running from 4th - 7th May 2007 and the 140 miles will be covered in 2.5 days with a race to the finish line which is actually in the .
