The stats are a little overwhelming, but last summer I was part of a team that supported and helped to run a Salvation Army children's summer camp for around 120 children aged 7-14. Games, crafts, singing, and sharing God's love gave the children some much needed love and attention and painted a picture of the potential each young person has. We saw dramatic change in many of the boys and girls that we met and I absolutely believe that the work we did will eventually contribute to a significant shift in those statistics.
Unfortunately the camp was due to close this year as there hasn't been enough support for it and the Moldovan SA doesn't have the resources to run it on their own.
FORTUNATELY, I've convinced them to give me one more year to drum up some support from people like you! In July 2010 I will be leading the UK team and directing the camp (better work on my Russian...)
The money our team raises will not only cover our own costs (flights etc) but will also provide craft supplies, sports equipment, and support the running costs of the camp.
Can you help?
I'd much prefer you to support the camp than to give me a birthday card!
