A team of staff from The Blue Cross have decided that, in addition to their day jobs, they’d like to go that extra mile (or just over 13 miles in fact) to help raise funds for Britain’s Pet Charity. So far representatives from the Equine, Administration, Finance, Human Resources and Companion Animal Welfare Departments have all got their trainers out (some for the first time) to take up the challenge of running the first Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon in London on Sunday 12th October. They’ve also managed to rope in a few friends along the way to join the team in raising as much money as possible for The Blue Cross…..and add some healthy competition between team members! Training has already started, with a few sore feet to prove it, and what better way to keep us motivated to run through the wind and rain that is the British Summertime than as many people as possible sponsoring the Team. The Blue Cross receives no Government funding and without the generosity of its supporters would be unable to continue its vital work in providing practical support information and advice for ’s pet and horse owners. Every donation really does make a difference so please give what you can and, if you are a tax payer, make the most of your sponsorship by completing the gift aid declaration. If you fancy a day trip to London for the event itself and take in the sights (Big Ben, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and not to mention a few red faced Blue Cross Team runners) we’d be delighted to see you there cheering us on….and if you get the urge to get your running kit on feel free to join us in our fundraising efforts by visiting the Active Challenges section of The Blue Cross website at www.bluecross.org.uk , completing your registration form and getting running! Please reward our sore feet, sweat and no doubt a few tears along the way by giving generously. Many thanks, Blue Cross Team
