Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.

A hand picked bunch of riders will attempt to ride the classic coast to coast route from Workington to Sunderland, a total of 130 miles and 4000 metres of climb in less than 24 hours. This is a very demanding ride both physically and mentally (usually it takes 3 to 4 days to complete) and so both the ride and the training will be long and tough.

The first group will start out on Friday 7th of June and have an over night stop near Penrith while the second group will set out early on Saturday morning. The two groups will meet at the Heartside cafe at lunch time and then all ride on to Sunderland.

The one day riders are: John Bennett, Gavin Hardwicke, Ed Longridge, Steve Mannion and Rob Thompson.

The two day riders are: Tony Avery, Ian Dane, John Goman, Chris Marriot, Craig Peterson & Geoff Wyatt.

Our drivers are Steve Hever and Don Walker.

A special thanks to all of the WAGS for putting up with men in Lycra spending hours in cafes talking about training.

Ed has set up a blog: coast2coast2013.wordpress.com
