Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
It seems I underestimated the number of people still wishing to support our effort! We will now break the £4,000 barrier, once I have changed a certain persons Zlotys for UK Sterling! Thank you all for your generosity and supporting our efforts.
Well, 300 miles seemed to go very quickly! The stats sound impressive as we climbed over 10,000 feet as well as cycling the 300 miles. A big thanks to all those that donated money. Our final total will be around £3,500 once I gather the cash and cheques we have at home. I'm going for a sit down now!
Quiz Total - update - It appears that we raised £1,070 once counted properly! Many thanks to all those who contributed. I must work out how to pay it in and update our page total!
24 April - Paul has managed to get back on a bike. Everything but the thumb seems to work OK and bizarrely his right ear, which seems to have fluid in it... or did some sense get knocked into it during the accident? He is some way behind Catherine in the training stakes, but hopefully will catch up in May.
A SUCCESSFUL NIGHT!
Everyone seems to have enjoyed the quiz night. Many thanks to Richard Tyndall, our Quiz Master. And congratulations to "Odds and Ends", the winning team. We raised around £680 on the night and are expecting at least two more donations. The food seems to have been well received, if you would like the recipes, email Paul and he will reply with both recipes.
17 April is QUIZ NIGHT. Come and support our efforts and have a fun night out. We will even feed you with a celebrity chef recipe! For details, contact sponsor@tyndall.me.uk.
April 2010 - Catherine has started to manage longer training runs and has increased her rides to work. Paul has made his first ride since the accident, although his thumb is still swollen and immobile. Targets for training will be difficult.
Feb 2010 - Disaster strikes, Paul is hit from behind by a car while out on his bike. Bike a write-off, Paul battered and very lucky as his helmet saved his life. He doesn't remember the incident and comes away with a broken right hand and a badly bruised left shoulder... plus gravel rash to the left side of his face. Oh, and a broken helmet. Still there are 4 months to recover and a couple of weeks to train!
November 2009 - Following in the footsteps of Catherine's brother, Richard, we have volunteered to cycle from London to Paris for Christian Aid. This ride is 4 days and 80 miles per day, so not a simple day out as we normally do.
We started "training" by going on a diet!
