!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 04:02.39 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINISHED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 04:02.39 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, personal victory over determination (I was in a lot of pain and managed to complete the race without stopping). 4h 02m 39s I'll try to update the picture later so you can see the joyous event. If you didn't manage to sponsor/donate prior to the race, you can still do it now, and many many thanks to all that have donated and supported me throughout. Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation. I'm a fairly sporty type, but the marathon is one of those must do it once when able, or it'll never get done at all. Four months of training will be required in order to survive Four hours of torture on the streets of London (So this is not something I'm turning to lightly).
In honour of Cagga, a very close friend, I am aiming to raise as much as possible for Rosemere. Caroline (Cagga) was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer, and almost immediately began treatment in Preston. There are still more treatments to get through and since finishing chemotherapy in Jan, Cagga is now due to commence radiotherapy. We are hoping she will be into her recovery for April, in time to cheer me around the course and across the finish line.
Throughout her treatment we have seen evidence of the wonderful work that the Foundation does and have realised how essential charitable donations are to help continue the amazing service the charity provides. The Foundation is aiming to raise £500,000 in 2007/8, for cancer research, patient welfare projects, equipment and training to help support cancer units throughout Lancashire.
This is very much a joint venture, with both of us pushing for our goals (although Chris will be doing all the hard work he he !! - Cag ).
Thanks for your help and please sponsor us now! Any amount donated (no matter how large or small) will be greatly appreciated. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rosemere Cancer Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. The sites takes a 5% cut on gross takings, so if you Donate £10, the charity will get about £12. (£10 + TaxBack £2.80 - CreditCardCharge 12p -SiteAdmin5% 68p equals approx £12 for the charity)
Many thanks for your support.
