LCD believes all children have the right to a good quality education. The charity works with schools and their communities in the most impoverished areas of Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, South Africa and Uganda. By sharing and developing skills its work is bringing about some remarkable, long-lasting changes in education, helping over a million children to have a better start in life.

My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I am one of only two teachers from the north of Scotland, going with sixteen other teachers from central Scotland as part of the Global Teachers Programme (GTP), run by international agency Link Community Development.

This summer I will be spending five weeks of my summer holiday living and working in a Malawian village community, where there isn’t any running water or electricity. I am going to work with staff at the village school where I will be staying, helping to develop leadership, management and teaching practice in the school.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Link Community Development will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
