Banger Rally To Rimini · 5 September 2009

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

We are traveling to Italy on a banger rally which means the cars have to be under £250 or over 20 years old. We are taking an 18 year old VW golf and we are called the AA team!! We are struggling our way through 6 countries in 6 days to get to Rimini. We start in the UK and head to France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and finally Italy. We will then go through spain on the way back. The whole journey will be around 3,500 miles and thats pretty nerve racking when we both know nothing about cars, but we can't wait to give it a go. The official site for the rally is motoscape-rally.co.uk/ if you want to take a look at where we're heading in detail.

All money raised from your very generous selves will go straight to CALM, the campaign against living miserably, which helps young men suffering from all sorts of everyday problems who feel that suicide is the only way, these deaths can so easily be lowered if they have someone to talk to. The charity is mainly for men because men feel that talking about their problems or having them in the first place is a weakness and so they often don't share the problem like many females would. So we are going to decorate our car with all calm logos. Calms official site is thecalmzone.net as i've not really done their cause much justice. Their myspace site shows all their tv adverts- myspace.com/calmzone and you can also find them on youtube and facebook.

So that's pretty much it, we've covered all our own costs so the charity will get it all. And if we win 1st prize we will be donating another £500 ourselves. We will be taking loads of photos and maybe doing a video diary for a bit of fun as the charity wants to publish a story after we have done it.

Thanks for reading

Josh and Jonny
